Can You Use A Regular Fishing Rod For Ice Fishing Can You Use Ice-fishing Rods For Regular Lake And Creek Fishing?

Can you use ice-fishing rods for regular lake and creek fishing? - can you use a regular fishing rod for ice fishing

I now have a kayak and is not large enough to carry a normal fishing rod, so I asked if a walking stick could be used for ice fishing, fishing in rivers and lakes?

  1. Work. I use to go hiking and trekking, which works well for small fish, but I wouldnt trust against a pike and bass

  2. Ice fishing rods work, but there are better ways.

These rods are not small at all easy to use. Pitching distance is limited. Casting light platforms, it will be difficult. You do not have much hook setting power. Because the fish are becoming more difficult. If the fish directly on the hard disk cover, bad luck! You need to change your hand movements to compensate for the loss of the rod length, so it attracts working properly. In short, this is not the same as a normal bar. They are awfully good in my eyes, but not practical if it do ice fishing.

As you kayak fishing, I do not really see why you can not use regular rods and reels. I have seen many people use the regular settings on kayaks included chopsticks. I saw people with 2 tie rods fitted at the rear, while filled bars 2 other very well before the cargo net. I've even seen people mount fishfinder in their kayaks. Why should such a luxury and opt for something less desirable? Visit the following links may change his mind.

PS: There are rod holders for kayaks designed for sale and are available.

  3. I have an open center ice in the water several times, in fact, and took some fish! Casting is a big disadvantage when you try to use a curling in open water.
